Sōsuishi-ryū (双水執流) is an interesting martial art, that dates back to 1650.

Its main focus is on Kumiuchi (組討 - grappling) and Koshi no Mawari (腰之廻 - iaijutsu and kenjutsu).

Both the Kosonkai and the Seirenkan branches of Sōsuishi-ryū are derived from Matsui Hyakutaro Munetada (born 1864).
Matsui Hyakutaro Munetada first leaned Sōsuishi-ryū from his uncle Matsui Kōkichi, who also held Menkyo Kaiden in Jigō Tenshin-ryū (自剛天真流) and then studied directly under the 11th generation head - Shitama Munetsuna.

(Note - Jigō Tenshin-ryū / Ise Jitoku Tenshin-ryū is an off-shoot from Ryōi Shintō-ryū - Kasahara line)
