Against a downward Wakizashi (脇差) / Kodachi (小太刀) cut (technique 1.)

Published on 10 April 2023 by Peter King

Uke attacks with a downward Wakizashi (脇差) / Kodachi (小太刀) cut (or strike with a stick).

Tori intercepts its descent by blocking with his forearm. Then stepping forward, Tori places his other arm behind Uke's arm and applies an entangled lock, taking Uke's arm to the rear of his body. Tori then pulls Uke’s arm down to the side of Uke’s body and continuing the pressure. Then Tori places his hand on Uke's neck and applies pressure to the area of the throat (beside the trachea (windpipe), where the tracheal process leaves the mandible (jawbone) vault of the skull).

Our next seminar is this coming Saturday, 15h April 2023 Date: Saturday, 15th April 2023
