Uke attacks using a lateral, outwards cut with a Wakizashi (脇差) / Kodachi (小太刀), or alternatively striking with a stick.

Tori receives this motion at Uke's arm at the wrist and elbow with the edges of both of his hands and takes a grip on these areas.

Tori then rotates Uke's arm bringing it down to his own waist level and stepping forward, the holds Uke’s his thighs level. Tori then pushes strongly against Uke's elbow.

Note: Tori can follow this up with a kick to Uke’s head, as Uke is bent forward.
