It is well established that Kitō-ryū (起倒流) derived from Ryōi Shintō-ryū (良移心当流). So, it is interesting to see the below, in the Kitō-ryū section of the Japanese language book:

'Jūjutsu Kankei Shiryō' (柔術関係史料  - Jūjutsu-related historical material) '下巻' (gekan, or ge no maki).

and to compare it the extremely similar content in both the:

• 'Ryōi Shintō-ryū Shiki no Maki' (良移心當流四季之巻 - Four seasons scoll)
• and the 'Tenshin-ryū Kumiuchi Shiki Shikkō no Maki' (天眞流組討四季執行の卷 - Grappling, conducting oneself during the four seasons scroll) from another derived school - the Jigō Tenshin-ryū (自剛天真流).

The amateur translation is as follows:

心氣の中のみにも限らず形へ施すてとあ雖然心

を引出して其虚を

“Not only in the mind and ‘ki’, but also in the form of the mind.

and the emptiness of it.”
