Further to my previous posts regarding the Kitō-ryū being a continuation of the Ryōi Shintō-ryū Jūjutsu
I recently obtained this document, which is the:
Kitō-ryū Jūjutsu Hontai (起倒流柔術本体 - main substance / real form)
It was written in Keiō (慶応) 2 (1867), during the last year of the Tokugawa Shogunate (徳川幕府) and just prior to the Meiji restoration.
The translation (by Logan Weymouth from another copy of the document) is as follows:
本體者体之事 Hontai sha Tai No Koto ( Matter of the Basics for Beginners - my reading would be; "Matter of the the fundamentals')
Rie Senri Keitō (Main Principle Set of Handling Forms)
Kihutoku Shōriki (Unacquired 'Ki' Energy Correct Self-Perspective)
Buchisō Kijōbō (The Countenance of Being Stout Hearted and Unaffected)
Shishotoku Seikiteki (Being Stout Hearted About the Enemy and The Place-of-Incident)
Shikyōjaku Sōtetsukyō (The Strength of Penetrating into Strengths and Weaknesses)
Jaku.tsū Tatsusoku Senben (The Changing to the 1000 Rules of Acquiring Passage by Weakness)
