Regular readers of these posts will appreciate that Kitō-ryū Jūjutsu (起倒流柔術) was derived from Ryōi Shintō-ryū Jūjutsu (良移心当流 柔術).

I recently obtained a copy of the 'Kito Yushin Jujutsu Hiden Kai' (起倒雄心 柔術秘傳解 - An Explanation of the Secret Jujutsu Techniques of the Kito Yushin School) document from Japan.

Fortunately, Eric Shahan provides a traslation of this document in his excellant book 'A Collection of Curious Jujutsu Manuals: Volume II'.

"#7 In this situation there are two Teki (opponents), enemies, one in front and the other behind. The first one approaches you from the front and throws a punch. The second enemy, approaching from behind, grabs you from behind in a bear-hug. Respond by whipping your head back and striking the enemy grabbing you from behind in Jinchu, Center of Man, the spot just below the nose (Jinchu 人中).

At the same time grab his right arm with your left hand. This is shown in the illustration. With your right hand reach up and grab the enemy’s neck. At this point you should drop your hips as low as possible, fill your body with power and throw him forward at the second opponent."
